What a journey we have been on over the past 30 years.
It is hard to believe that from our early inception in 1996, when we first started trading that we would become one of the largest and most well-known fireworks display companies in the UK.
Thirty years of displays, our own imported fireworks, and a perfect record of firing on time.
Where it all started
The company was started back in 1996 with the help of the Prince’s Youth Business Trust and we have never looked back since. We learnt our trade from our own ideas and experiences because back in 1996 there was no officially recognised training so the learning curve was steep. What we did learn was how not to do things that other companies seemed to think was safe.
We built the company on a shoestring budget in 1996 but this taught us how to manage a company carefully and how to provide excellent customer care to retain our clients whilst building the business with new customers.

As we grew, so did the size and prestige of the company. Firing amazing displays for some of the most well known clients in the UK has been a privilege that to this day we do not take for granted. We have seen many fireworks display companies disappear along the way whilst we have grown steadily.
In the early years we purchased fireworks from importers but we soon bypassed these companies and started designing, manufacturing and importing our own brand of fireworks to build Frontier to what it is today.
The craft
The craft behind our displays
As we gradually built our team of pyrotechnicians, so the technology advanced and we found that we had to constantly be on the front foot to keep ahead of our competitors. Even as we advanced as a company we were keen to keep our history and to this day we have not lost how to perform a display with lit portfires (tapers they were called in the good ol’ days).
It always gives us great pleasure to hear a client say that it was the best display they have ever seen and watch their jaw drop as we explain it was fired by hand and not by firing system.
Adaptable and resilient
30 years in business has seen us work hard through many obstacles across the years from recession, Covid, fire service strikes to flooding, foot and mouth and more besides. The two characteristics that have always stood strong are our adaptability and resilience.
Our clients have always trusted us to perform their displays to the highest standards with safety at the forefront with creativity and skill in the skies. We really have stood out from the rest with how we design displays. We use the latest wireless firing system and perform state of the art pyro-musicals that have perfect synchronisation.
We have grown into one of the biggest professional fireworks importers in the UK, developing mind blowing new fireworks every year.
No plans to slow down
When we look back over the past few years we really have worked with some amazing clients, including:
- The British Olympic Association
- The RAF Red Arrows 50th Anniversary
- The opening of the British Airways i360
- The Heritage Flame Lighting Ceremony for the Rio Paralympics
amongst many others. As we turn our attention to the future, we have no plans to slow down, in fact we are currently expanding in various display areas this year and looking to import more new fireworks into our range.
